The Mystery of the Arctic Meets the Drama of Painting Artspace111 is pleased to announce a solo show featuring the work of Linda Blackburn. The exhibit, titled The Thing From Another World, marks Blackburn’s most recent solo show, and first at Artspace111, as she often exhibits along side her doting husband and fellow artist, Ed Blackburn. Artspace111 opens its new doors with John Hartley: Flashback. This marks the first solo show for Hartley in the newly renovated Artpsace111. Hartley’s nostalgic paintings encompass his life long passions of making art and collecting. Dating back to his roots in Ohio, Hartley has always had an admiration for toy collecting, among other interests. Hartley’s work seems to capture a profound moment in time, as seen in his paintings of antique toy soldiers and burning flames atop matchsticks. The newly renovated gallery, Artsapce111, opens the fall art season with the work of Leslie Lanzotti’s Face It. Face It will make its debut at Fall Gallery Night, Saturday, September 8, 2007. The gallery will remain open 2 – 9 pm and welcomes the public. The tight frames of Leslie’s subject matter invites the viewer to feel an emotional connect in the eyes of the individual.
