The Art of Politics Artspace111 presents a solo exhibition by Ed Blackburn entitled News - paintings, drawings & prints. The show will open during Fall Gallery Night, Saturday, September 6, 2008 with a reception for the artist from 2 - 9 pm. Artspace111 opens its new doors with John Hartley: Flashback. This marks the first solo show for Hartley in the newly renovated Artpsace111. Hartley’s nostalgic paintings encompass his life long passions of making art and collecting. Dating back to his roots in Ohio, Hartley has always had an admiration for toy collecting, among other interests. Hartley’s work seems to capture a profound moment in time, as seen in his paintings of antique toy soldiers and burning flames atop matchsticks.
